Health to watch

Know the biology.
Get ahead of it.

Hip dysplasia

Joint malformation occurs in the breed; screening and lean weight help protect the hips over time.

Patellar luxation

Kneecap slipping appears in some dogs; lean weight and screening reduce strain and severity.

Hypothyroidism & epilepsy

Thyroid issues and idiopathic epilepsy occur in some lines and are manageable with veterinary care.

General breed tendencies, not a diagnosis. Every dog is an individual — pair this with regular veterinary care.
